How to start a makeup collection?

I own hardly hardly anything, and I want to know what some fundamental items are when staring a makeup collection? I mean everything from what kind of eyeliner, to foundation. Also, where do I get QUALITY brushes that won't cost me a fortune? Thanks!How to start a makeup collection?
Mascara - Maybelline - Colossal Volume


Mascara's great because it's so light and easy to wear/apply but it has a huge effect, it's cheap and you can wear it at any age, Maybelline is the best for mascara.





Lip gloss/stick - either Victoria's Secret - cherry amour lip gloss or MAC - impassioned lipstick


A lip gloss or lipstick is a staple, these are the two most popular as far as I'm aware it just depends on how old you are and what you feel comfortable wearing. Oh and no matter what you hear don't wear lip liner ever.





Eyeshadow/liner - go with MAC they're the best for this, the kohl eye liner is great I'd go with black if your starting a collection and for shadow I'd suggest a colour not far from your skin tone so that it's in for a long time purple is in this season but there's the chance that it won't be in like three months so something neutral is a better investment.





Those are the things you need for a basic collection if you want to get into foundation and concealer go with Cover Girl (always wear powder foundation not liquid) Nars makes the best blush.





I'm assuming you already have perfume and nail polish but if you don't OPI or China Glaze are the best polishes and although I haven't tried it yet Daisy by Marc Jacobs is an insanely popular perfume (and not as expensive as you think) Vera Wang Princess is really nice too.How to start a makeup collection?
Sonia Kushak makes brushes that sell at Walmart. Not too expensive and they are pretty decent. I would just buy 1 eyeshadow brush, 1 blush brush to begin with.





Some fundamental items: Mascara and lipgloss. Thats as basic as it gets. If you have problem skin, dark undereye circles, or if your face needs contouring that's extra stuff to help you polish your look you can do down the road.





Most girls/women started buying their makeup at the drugstores and many still do. Some would say to spend the extra money on your liquid foundation at the department stores because thats one thing every girl should splurge on. If not, Covergirl always worked for me.





I would have the following in your makeup collection to start out with:





1. Any black mascara. Buy an eyelash curler as an extra.


2. Clear or pink lipgloss. Doesnt have to be expensive.


3. Blush. Get a bright pink shade.


4. Liquid foundation. 99% of women benefit from foundation - this will be trial and error for you until you find the right shade and brand that works. Learn how to apply this correctly- try YouTube.


5. Pressed powder. Apply this after your foundation to ';set'; it. Or apply alone to keep your face oil-free. I like CoverGirl as a cheap alternative to Benefit's ';Get Even'; pressed powder.





Extras:


Clear eyebrow wax or gel. This will set your brows and make you look more groomed. If your brows are sparse then use an eyebrow powder or pencil in your shade.


Brown or grey eyeshadow - good starter shades to give you a smokey eye.


Bronzer - Use this on the sides of your face for an instant glow.


Liquid or pencil eyeliner in black or brown. Practice using these to develop your skill.





I would recommend CoverGirl or Maybelline. They make great mascaras, foundations, powders, eyeliners, etc..

If you're just starting out, stay away from MAC or Benefit they are expensive! Wait till you figure out all your shades and your routine before investing in expensive makeup. But if there's one thing I've learned, its that you get what you pay for.





Oh and dont' forget about your skin. Skin and makeup go hand in hand. Take care of your skin!
the fundamentals:





1. a neutral palette eyeshadow (because itll work no matter where youre going)


2. a good quality mascara


3. eyeliner (pencil and liquid)


4. a peach blush and a pink blush (some days your skin will suit one but not the other)


5. concealer for under eye circles


6. highlighter


7. a sheer pink lipgloss





from then you can start getting into fancier things like brightly colored eyeshadows, different colored eyeliners, mascaras that do different things e.g volumising, lengthening.





try experimenting with the basics to see what you like drawing the focus to, either your eyes or your lips. if you want to draw attention to your eyes, try an eyeshadow color that compliments your eyes. if you want to highlight your lips, try lipsticks etc.


then you can try different techniques with your makeup, such as cat flick eyeliner or contouring with blush.


but remember to only draw attention to one feature at a time.
Okay there are definitely a few basics that you need in your makeup kit for regular, if not daily, use.





Foundation:


Try out and see what kind of foundation you prefer -- cream to powder, powder, or liquid. Powder is the easiest to apply and natural enough for daily use.


Try the Covergirl compact makeup in the blue container.





My favorite kind for daily use can be applied heavier for more of a pulled together look. Apply it with a flat foundation brush for the most natural, blended effect. My favorite is the Benefit Some Kind-a Gorgeous.

Always wear a blush or bronzer. My favorite is M.A.C. in Smile for pink or pick up a dusty rose or peach color from the drugstore brands. This should be applied everyday for all over warmth to your face. Apply it on the apples of your cheeks extended towards your temples and hairline, and the peachy colors for the bridge of your nose and your hairline. A good bronzer is the Bare Essentials Warmth.





Eyeshadow:


Always have a shimmery neutral shadow for everyday use. M.A.C.'s Gleam or Maybelline's Tranquil Sands work well. For nighttime, pick up an olive-green shade for shadowing.





Eyeliner:


The best eyeliner I've found is the drugstore's Maybelline Define-a-line in Black. Simple and practical for all looks, from the smokey eye to the cat's eye.





Mascara:


Always wear mascara to finish off your look. My favorite is M.A.C. Plushlash. Volume, length, and class are added to your lashes with NO clumps and your lashes are silky to the touch.

hmm. i started with basic neutral colors.. browns/tans/beiges and def some black eyeshadows! they look great on everyone! and then here and there pick up some different colors(because it can get spendy) and do the same with the brushes! i mean use what you have and just keep adding to your collection when you get a lil money. before you know it you will have more than enough to be happy with! but you wanna buy quality over quanity- cuz cheap makeup and brushes suck and you end up wasting your money :( and thats a bummer!
ebay ebay ebay! hahah its were i get my stuff, mac do awesome burshes but very expensive so get a brush kit from ebay! you need a foundation - i suggest napoleon foundation stick, or the mac liquid i forget what its called!. for powder i recommend napoleon photo finish. bronzer - napoleon, blush - mac, mascara - ive tried sooo many brands i couldnt tell you,eyeliner pencil- mac is good, liquid eyeliner, australis. lipstick/gloss - mac





eyeshadows definately napoleon. just get basic colours, and once you experiment some more get some more daring ones!
I just started my makeup collection!! There are a few basics. But you don't have to spend a lot! Elf makes cheap makeup that has a good quality. They have a great deal on eyeshadows and lip glosses. That's what they make that's really good. The eyeshadows (excluding minerals) range form 1 dollar to 2 dollars. You should buy about 4 of these. make sure they compliment your eyes. if you get the palettes, you should ahve 2-4 eyeshadows in each one. buy everyday colors like browns. buy some accentuating colors like blue//purple//green.


LIPS---


elf makes good lip gloss. i adore the hypershine ones. they're only a dollar. buy about 2 of these in differnet colors. then buy 2 lipsticks from Revlon or Covergirl. soon you'll build your way up to Mac and Sephora. A good lipliner is useful too. Ulta has reasonably priced ones.


FACE--


i don't really like concealers and foundations that much. if i do use them, i use BareMinerals. tey're a little pricey but are very good. you might want to buy a drugstore brand first to find what shade suits your skin best. buy a cheap blush. i recommend covergirl.


EXTRAS-----


A good eyeliner is a must have. you only need one or two to start off with. Go to Ulta. they have a table of all this Ulta brand stuff. everything form lipsticks to brushes. if you buy two of the products on the table, you get two free. each product is around 4-7 dollars. the products are GREAT quality. so BUY four products (about 20-30 dollars) and you'll get four three. its a great way to start your collection. they have:

BRUSHES--


good quality brushes come with a price. Ulta has reasonable ones. but i suggest starting off at MAC. you have to pay for these. you don't want a flimsy product. or a bad one. make sure you keep your brushes clean.


TIPS--


scour the clearance racks at Sephora//Ulta. i found great toner (evens out your skintone) at sephora for only four dollars!! look online too. Pop beauty products @ sephora.com in clearance are generally cheap. every week get a new beauty product or two. one week its 30$ nars and the next it's a two 5$ lipglosses. switch it up. soon you'll have a HUGE collection!

If you are a beginner with makeup, you should probably start with drugstore makeup that's inexpensive. Brands like CoverGirl and Rimmel London are pretty much affordable, but keep in mind, that you get what you pay for. Keep buying makeup whenever you have the extra money. first, get your skin in great condition...then you won't need really expensive products to correct the skin, and you can just use the makeup. i'd get a mac foundation and brush, and start there. you can get the fun stuff (bright colored eyeshadow etc) at walmart and target (maxx is a decent brand) for the time being, but mac eyeshadows are SUPER cheap and they last forever. they also have great colors. if you have to buy things over a large span of time, try and get the stuff first that you know you'll use a lot...like moisturizer, foundation, eyeliner, mascara, lip stuff. then add stuff as you go along. if you can splurge and buy all at once, maybe try something like sephora...they'll be able to hook you up with great stuff, and they have a huge variety in one store.
Depends on your skin color. I kept red, blue, yellow, white and brown powder eyeshadow. Can mix around to create new colors. For blush must have 1 light and 1 dark color eg: pink and orange. I use lip gloss.

Yes there is, Im not a makeup artist but I have a ton of makeup. It good to have a big variety. People have that much because how are you suppose to know what you like unless you try it.

The LM was left in lunar orbit and it later crashed into the Moon. The service module was dropped just before the command module reentered the atmosphere, and the service module reentered Earth's atmosphere too, and burned up.

Salmons still has the possibility of over-taking a position and becoming a starter. With Artest just at his starting of a return, Salmons is still going to see a lot of playing time until Artest gets back into basketball form. That means the slow start for Artest could result in more for Salmons.





Even if Artest comes out hot, the way Salmons has played this year could reduce somebody else's playing time. I would keep him on your bench until needed. He will come in handy soon enough.
