My makeup collection?

is pretty big.

last year, i got sooo into makeup. i was doing all these crazy makeup looks, every day. and i would spend every last penny i had on makeup (not smart, i know)

especially since i have to start saving up for a car.

(and those of you who havent bought from MAC before, eyeshadow are $14, mascaras are $11, foundation is $25, ect.)

and it wasnt like i was just buying what i needed, i was buying stuff just to try it out.

stupiddddd!

but so this year I'm more into the easier looks, but ive got so much makeup.

and allot of it is high end (mostly MAC).

which i worked pretty hard for and i have a problem with just giving it away.

so my question is, what do i do?

i cant just give it away, but its to late to sell it.

GAHH!

i just want to have a small makeup bag again, enough to take up my desk.

helpp?

10 points.My makeup collection?
Sell what you can. If you have any shadows, palletes etc. that are barely used--I would put them on ebay or craig's list. Otherwise you're, SOL. My advice to you would be only buy expensive necessities. Like getting high end foundation, primer but just regular brand eyeshadows, blushes etc. Every once in a while when you have a little extra money, you can treat yourself to something nice, a new color etc. but don't have an entire shopping spree for make up. Keep to natural/neutral colors. I also went a big make up crazy a year ago, and now I don't wear any of the bright colors I have anymore. I stick to a brown smokey eye look pretty much every day. you could tell your family or close friends that you dont want it anymore and that you are willing to sell it to them if they want anything. you could make up prices for everything you have. eyeshadow could be 7 or 8 dollars instead of the 14. it could all go at half price. or if you hardly used some of the stuff, sell it for however much you bought it for.
If you have a little sister or cousin then why dont you give it to them. I bet they dont want to spend as much money as you did on it. Also do not give it to your friends cause its unsanitary but if you give them to your sister or a family member their family and I am sure they would appreciate it. Hoped this helped.
See if your friends or family will buy it from you for 1/2 price or sell it on e-bay in one auction as a buy-it-now low cost (specify that it's used and obviously you would not sell mascara or lipgloss), but maybe you could make a couple bucks off of it so it's not a total loss.
I would just throw all that stuff away. Who will buy used makeup? It's not sanitary. But MK offers a Makeup Compact Pro thats cute, stylish and portable. MK is also the Best in Color Cosmetics and has been for the past 14 years in a row so Mac does'nt stand a chance. Check it out!
Ebayy :D

use makeup alley! it lets you swap your used or unused makeup for things you actually want! it's great!!!!!
Give it away to family or friends for half the price.
lol send it to me i love crazy colors i'll pay u the shipping lol
How much money are you talking about (original cost)??? If it's hundreds of dollars, then you should chalk it up as a lesson learned. From what you've written, it sounds as if most of your ';investment'; is in eye color and you won't be able to sell those through any retail outlet.

You can put it away for awhile and when your tastes change again, it will be like ';new';. Or, young girls LOVE makeup.......and it's cheaper than toy makeup.....do you have little sisters or little cousins?

Another idea is to find a Mary Kay consultant.....She might be willing to give you a big discount to earn your loyalty and make it not quite so painful to chunk the motley assortment you have. It's a well-priced line and appeals to all ages.....not just your mother's makeup anymore. Even better, you could become a consultant and be paid to play!
Yeah, you're right. You can't sell used makeup. Giving it away is sketchy too as bacteria can develop on products such as lipstick, mascara, and eye-pencils. Eyeshadow and blush might be the only thing you might be able to give, but no one really wants someone else's used make-up. No matter how close you are to the person, it's still kind of gross. Why don't you just use up what you can? Sounds like you won't have to spend any $$ on make-up for some time. That will save you some bucks.
