A rock dropped on the moon will increase its speed from 0 m/s to 8.15 m/s in about 5 seco?

v = gt/6; where g = 9.81 m/sec^2 near Earth's surface. The Moon acceleration due to gravity at its surface is about 1/6 that of Earth's, thus the /6 in the equation.

Thus 6v/g = t = 8.15*6/9.81 ~ 4.9 sec by eyeballing it. Do the numbers if you want more precision.

So the answer is YES...';about 5 seco';.
